Peak season generally offers more stable and warmer weather, but it does not guarantee completely clear conditions. Shoulder season can also provide excellent weather with fewer crowds.
Peak Season Weather
Peak season in the northern areas usually falls between June and August. During these months, most high-altitude roads are open and daytime temperatures are comfortable. However, occasional monsoon clouds and short rain spells can still occur.
Shoulder Season Conditions
Shoulder season, particularly May and September, often brings clear skies and cooler temperatures. September in particular can offer excellent visibility after the monsoon weakens.
Key Differences
- Warmer days during peak season
- Full access to remote valleys in summer
- Quieter surroundings in shoulder months
- Potentially clearer mountain views outside peak crowds
Weather in mountain regions remains variable year-round. While peak season is more predictable overall, shoulder months can be equally rewarding under stable conditions.
