The ideal months to visit the northern areas of Pakistan are May to September. During this period, weather conditions are moderate and most roads and attractions are accessible.
Late Spring (May)
May marks the reopening of many high-altitude routes after winter snow begins to melt. Temperatures become comfortable for sightseeing, and valleys start turning green.
Summer (June–August)
This period offers the warmest and most stable weather. Lakes, mountain passes, and trekking routes are generally open, making it the busiest travel period.
Early Autumn (September)
September is often considered one of the most balanced months. Crowds begin to decrease, rainfall reduces, and visibility improves after the monsoon season.
From late October onward, temperatures drop quickly and snowfall can limit access to remote areas. For reliable road travel and outdoor activities, late spring through early autumn is usually the best window.
