India
India tour packages from Pakistan are mostly about family visits and pilgrimage, from the Sufi shrines of Ajmer Sharif and Nizamuddin in Delhi to Sikh and Hindu holy sites and Mughal landmarks such as the Taj Mahal. Travel between the two countries is heavily restricted, so Adventure Planners checks the current rules when you enquire.

Why visit India
For travellers from Pakistan, India is rarely just a holiday. Many families have relatives across the border, and many visits are made for pilgrimage: Muslim zaireen travel for the Urs at Ajmer Sharif and at the dargah of Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya in Delhi, while Sikh and Hindu travellers visit their own holy places. India also holds some of the greatest Mughal architecture, including the Taj Mahal, Humayun's Tomb and the Red Fort, all UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
India visa for Pakistani passport holders
Travel between Pakistan and India is heavily restricted. The High Commission of India in Islamabad states that Pakistani passport holders cannot apply for a tourist visa, and every application goes through a prior clearance process. In April 2025 India suspended visa services for Pakistani nationals, and the Attari–Wagah crossing was closed to regular travellers. Rules change often; we check the current position when you enquire, and we cannot promise a visa.
Pilgrimage travel to India from Pakistan
Under the 1974 Protocol on Visits to Religious Shrines, India and Pakistan agreed to let organised groups of pilgrims visit a fixed list of shrines in each country, including Ajmer Sharif and the Nizamuddin dargah. These group visits are arranged through official channels around specific Urs dates, and the number of visas issued has varied widely from year to year. Urs dates follow the Islamic calendar, so they move each year. Ask us about the current arrangements before making plans.
Places to visit and best time to visit India
- Ajmer, Rajasthan: the dargah of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti.
- Delhi: the Nizamuddin dargah, Jama Masjid, the Red Fort and Humayun's Tomb.
- Agra: the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort, with Fatehpur Sikri nearby.
- Amritsar: the Golden Temple (Harmandir Sahib), the holiest gurdwara of the Sikh faith, close to the Attari–Wagah border.
October to March is the most comfortable season for Delhi, Agra and Rajasthan. April to June is very hot across the northern plains, and the monsoon brings heavy rain from about July to September.
Plan your trip
Because the rules between Pakistan and India shift, the best first step is a conversation. Tell us your dates, the purpose of your visit and who is travelling, and we will tell you what is currently possible. You can also look at Nepal, Bangladesh or Sri Lanka among our international tours.
