How much does a Balochistan NOC cost for foreigners?
For our clients we only charge our real cost to print and courier your documents to the Quetta Home Department — around US$18 / PKR 5,000. For non-clients who only need an NOC (with their own arrangements and a local designated person), the price is US$50.
What is an NOC?
While “NOC” is the common term, it isn’t really a “no objection certificate” — it’s a mandatory permit from the provincial government for all foreigners wishing to explore Balochistan. Applications pass through 5 sections of the Home Department; if approved, the result is an information letter to Balochistan law enforcement that a foreigner is approved to travel, with security assigned as needed.
Why is a Designated Person so important?
Each application requires a local Pakistani national listed as your liaison. The police contact this person to coordinate your security before you enter Balochistan and stay in constant contact during your trip. When we plan your tour (or car & driver), we arrange this for you. If you’re travelling with a local friend or have your own transport, you can provide their details to us.
Can I apply online or do it myself?
Unfortunately, no. Applications can only be submitted through a specialised tour operator like Adventure Planners, or via a government agency if you’re travelling on business or with the media.
Will I be charged extra for security during my trip?
No. If your NOC is approved and you’re cleared to travel, security is provided free of charge where the area requires it. Please note the assignment of security is handled case-by-case by the authorities and is outside our control.
