Our Pakistan tour packages are grouped by region, from the Karakoram peaks of Gilgit-Baltistan and the green valleys of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to the Mughal cities of Punjab, the Indus heritage of Sindh and the Makran coast of Balochistan. Pick a region to see its tours, or combine several in one private itinerary.

Places to visit in Pakistan, region by region

Pakistan runs from the Arabian Sea to some of the highest mountains on earth, and each of its regions feels like a different trip. Most of our tours start in Islamabad or Lahore, and many combine two or three regions, so it helps to know what each one offers before you choose.

Gilgit-Baltistan: the northern areas

This is where the Karakoram, Himalaya and Hindu Kush meet. All five of Pakistan's 8,000-metre peaks stand here, including K2 and Nanga Parbat, along with Hunza, Skardu, Fairy Meadows and the Karakoram Highway. Trekking and road-trip season runs from spring to autumn, with blossom in April and golden poplars in October.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: valleys and frontier history

KPK pairs Peshawar's old bazaars and the Buddhist ruins of Gandhara with the orchards of Swat, the lakes of Naran and the Kalash valleys of Chitral, where spring and harvest festivals draw visitors each year. Peshawar is about two hours from Islamabad by motorway.

Punjab: Mughal cities and ancient Taxila

Lahore holds the Badshahi Mosque, Lahore Fort and the Shalimar Gardens, the last two listed together by UNESCO. Nearby are the Gandhara city of Taxila and the 16th-century Rohtas Fort, while Multan is known for its Sufi shrines. Our Punjab trips also include Islamabad and its Margalla Hills, where most journeys begin.

Sindh and Balochistan: the south

Sindh is Pakistan's oldest story, told through the Bronze Age city of Mohenjo-daro, the royal tombs of Makli and the port city of Karachi. It is at its best from November to February.

Balochistan is the least visited province and one of the most dramatic. The Makran Coastal Highway leads to Hingol National Park, with its mud volcanoes, the Princess of Hope rock formation and the beach at Kund Malir. We also arrange the NOC that travellers need for Balochistan.
