Uzbekistan
An Uzbekistan tour package from Pakistan follows the old Silk Road through Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva, with turquoise domes, madrasas and bazaars that share a history with the Mughals of South Asia. We plan private and group trips to Uzbekistan on request, and Lahore has direct flights to Tashkent.

Why visit Uzbekistan
For travellers from Pakistan, Uzbekistan has a special pull. Babur, founder of the Mughal Empire, was born in the Fergana Valley, and the Timurid buildings of Samarkand shaped the Mughal mosques and tombs later built in Lahore. Near Samarkand is the mausoleum of Imam al-Bukhari, compiler of Sahih al-Bukhari, which many visitors include as ziyarat.
The historic centres of Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva's Itchan Kala are all UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and each is compact enough to explore on foot.
Best time to visit Uzbekistan
- April to early June: spring weather, blossom and the most comfortable temperatures for walking tours.
- September and October: a second peak season, with harvest fruit in the bazaars and mild days.
- July and August: very hot, especially in Bukhara and Khiva, so sightseeing is best early and late in the day.
- November to March: cold, with occasional snow, but quiet monuments and lower hotel rates.
Uzbekistan visa for Pakistani passport holders
Pakistan is not on Uzbekistan's visa-free list, so Pakistani passport holders need a visa arranged before travel. Visa rules for Pakistani passport holders change often; we check the current requirements when you enquire.
Places to visit in Uzbekistan
- Tashkent: the capital, with the Hast Imam complex, Chorsu Bazaar and a metro known for its decorated stations.
- Samarkand: Registan Square, the Gur-e-Amir mausoleum of Amir Timur and the Shah-i-Zinda necropolis.
- Bukhara: the Kalyan Minaret, the Lyabi-Hauz pool and the old trading domes.
- Khiva: a walled inner town of mud-brick madrasas and minarets.
- Fergana Valley: silk weaving, ceramics workshops and Babur's birthplace at Andijan.
Getting to Uzbekistan from Pakistan
Uzbekistan Airways runs direct flights between Lahore and Tashkent, a flight of about three hours. Inside the country, the Afrosiyob high-speed train links Tashkent with Samarkand and Bukhara, so the classic Silk Road route needs very little road travel. If you enjoy the Silk Road cities, Azerbaijan is another easy trip from Pakistan with a similar mix of history and Muslim heritage.
